Abstract

852,980. Builder motions for spinning machines. BREVETS AERO-MECANIQUES S. A. Dec. 9, 1958 [Jan. 7, 1958], No. 39714/58. Class 120(2). In a ring spinning machine a reciprocating rail carrying either the rings or the spindles is at least partially balanced by a spring or springs, the variation in the action of the spring(s) consequent on raising the mean position of the rail being at least partially corrected. A wheel 13 reciprocated by a cam 5 traverses the rail 1 through a chain 10, shaft 8 and chain 4. A second cam 14 intermittently shortens the effective length of the chain 10 by rotating a shaft 12 through a lever 15, ratchet and pawl 17, 20 and a worm wheel 23, to displace the mean position of the rail 1. In the form shown there is one balancing spring 24 which is attached at one end to the shaft 12 and at the other to a drum 25 connected to a drum 27 keyed on the shaft 8. The drums 25 and 27 have the same diameter so that each displacement of the mean position of the rail is compensated by an equivalent rotation of the spring 24, the action of which is thus constant throughout the winding operation. The inner end of the spring may be connected to a member rotating in unison with the shaft 12 and the outer end directly to the chain 4.
