709,661. Draught excluders. PRESSED STEEL CO., Ltd. Dec. 3, 1952 [Dec. 5, 1951], No. 28557/51. Class 20 (3) A sealing strip for doors and other openings comprises a strip of sponge rubber 11 having a first surface 12 arranged to be secured to the frame of a door or other opening and lying in a plane parallel to the plane of the opening, a second surface 13 at right angles to the surface 12 and facing towards the centre of the opening, and a third surface 14 against which a closure member bears to seal the opening, a narrow strip 16 of substantially non-compressible material, e.g. spring steel or cardboard, being embedded in the rubber strip as shown. The sponge rubber strip may have an impervious rubber skin 15. The non-compressible strip may in modification be secured to the surface 13 or when of U-section as shown in Fig. 5 may be partly within and partly outside the rubber strip.
