Abstract

708,948. Drying apparatus. BUTTNERWERKE AKT.-GES. July 20, 1951, No. 17273/51. Class 34(2) A drying apparatus having slowly rotating annular plates 2 from which the material is removed by strippers (not shown), and turbine-like fans 3 within the central space has a housing 1 arranged to form an annular space between it and the plates 2, and deflector members 9 in the drying gas inlet duct 7 to divide the gas stream into two separate streams which pass in different directions tangentially to the annular space. The gases pass into the drier from duct 7 through superposed ducts 8 having flap valves 10 and are exhausted through a duct 4. The material to be dried enters through a hopper 5 and is discharged through a hopper 6.
