708,267. Control of A.C. motors; control of D.C. motors. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET. May 3, 1951 [May 6, 1950], No. 10390/51. Drawings to Specification. Class 38(3) [Also in Group XXXV] , A commutator motor has series excitation and may have a series speed-torque characteristic for the starting operation, afterwards being operated as a motor having substantially a shunt characteristic the power winding of a transductor being connected in series with the motor for this purpose. The motor may be of the A.C. type, the transductor having two control windings energized respectively from a constant source and adjustably in accordance with the motor current. The transductor may have, in addition, an adjustable control winding energized through a rectifier in accordance with the motor voltage. In each case the object is to obtain such a relation between the current and voltage of the motor that the speed is kept substantially constant despite varying load. The motor may be of the D.C. type connected to a rectifier which is in series with the transductor. A single control winding of the transductor may be energized in accordance with the difference of currents representing the voltage and current of the motor respectively.
