Abstract
707,781. Conveyers. BASON & SONS, Ltd. Nov. 17, 1952 [Nov. 27, 1951], No. 27740/51. Class 78 (1) [Also in Group V] Bricks 6 are pushed endwise on their load bearing surfaces from a press 5 along a table 7 on to an endless belt conveyer 8. When the bricks reach an abutment (not shown), a pusher 14 reciprocated by a cam (24) operated bellcrank lever 21 pushes the bricks over the edge of the conveyer on to a conveyer 31 which carries them to a sanding machine. The drop from one conveyer to the other is such that each brick falls transversely of the conveyer and remains resting upon its side. The bricks may be controlled during their drop by a roller or other guide immediately below the edge of the conveyer. The speed of the conveyer 31 is such that each brick is carried clear before the next drops and preferably the parts of the apparatus are so timed that the bricks are deposited in a continuous row. The operative run of the conveyer 8 may be supported by guide plates. The pusher 14 is driven in timed relation with the press by driving the cam 24 from the main shaft of the press.
