707,613. Switch cases. LENZE, sen. W., LENZE. E., LENZE, jun. W., and LENZE, F., [trading as LENZE KOMMANDIT-GES, W.] Jan. 1, 1952 [Jan. 2, 1951], No. 10/52. Class 38(5) [Also in Group XI and XXXVI] In a lighting installation, e.g. for street lighting, in which lamp fittings are detachably suspended from a carrier, e.g. a cable, a contact-box 1 is disposed between the cable 1 and a lamp fitting 2 and comprises a part 12 mounted on the cable 1 and carrying electric supply contacts 14 and a part 15 mounted on the lamp 2 and having co-operating contacts 16, the parts 12, 15 being detachably connected by a hinge 17 and means being provided for fastening the box in closed position. The fastening may comprise a toggle 18 which may be actuated to allow a limited downward swinging of the part 15 to break the electric circuit at the contacts 14, 16. The part 15 is detached completely by disengaging the toggle 18 from its hook 20 and unhooking the hinge 17. A rubber gasket 21 is provided along the upper edge of the part 15 for rendering the box moisture proof when closed.
