Abstract
655,595. Supporting lighting fittings. SMART & BROWN (ENGINEERS), Ltd., and SPIVEY, W. H. Sept. 30, 1948, No. 25492. [Class 75(iii)] A device provided with means for securing thereto a lighting fitting and also with means for suspending the fitting spaced below the device to facilitate electrical connection is adapted to be clamped between the base and cover of a wall or ceiling fitting, e.g. a ceiling rose, and comprises holes so that it may alternatively be secured by bolts or screws to the wall or ceiling. The device is made of sheet metal and comprises a central annular part 4 which can be clamped between the base 1 and screwon cover 3 of a ceiling rose, and two lateral parts 5, 6 having fixed nuts 7, 8 for engagement with screws 9, 10 supporting the lighting fitting. Arcuate slots 15...18 in the annular part enable the device to be bolted or screwed to a wall. Chains 11, 12 for suspending the fitting below the device are hooked to hooks 13, 14 cut from the lateral parts 5, 6.
