639,369. Lighting fittings. HOLOPHANE, Ltd., and ENGLISH, S. June 16, 1948, No. 16215. Addition to 599,685. [Class 75 (iii)] A support as described and claimed in the parent Specification for the shades or globes of lighting fittings is provided with a flanged or dished shroud 36 adapted to conceal the upper part of the connection. between the tripod legs 21 and the ceiling or other surface to which the fitting is to be attached, the lower part of said connection being concealed by a bell 27 and by an intermediate member 30 between the bell and said shroud. The supporting tube 12 for an electric lamp holder 11 is screw-threaded at its upper end for attachment by clamping nuts 13 to a strap 14 which is secured by screws 17 to a conduit box let into a ceiling or other surface. The ends of the straps 14 are slightly cranked downwardly and adapted to be engaged by a pair of spring clips 41 carried by the shroud 36, the engagement being effected by rotation of the latter.
