Abstract

583,780. Ceiling-roses. GREGG, W. G.'D. Dec. 4, 1944, No. 24204. [Class 38 (i)] A ceiling rose or wall fitting for carrying an electric light pendant &c. is provided with a socket member connected to the supply mains and a plug member carrying the lamp flex, the plug and socket members being held together,by a cover which is screwed to the socket member and encloses the plug. Fig. 1 shows a ceiling rose comprising a plate a fixed to the ceiling and to a socket member d. The lamp flex j is connected to a plug f which is enclosed in a cover gwhich is in screwthreaded engagement with the socket member d. The cover g may clamp a ring h having hooks h<1> to which the chains of a bowl may be attached. Fig. 2 (not shown) illustrates a modification in which the ring h is omitted and a tubular pendant is suspended from the lower opening in the cover g. Fig. 3 (not shown) illustrates a further modification in which a hook with a tubular shank is suspended from the cover, the flex passing through the shank. Chains may be attached to the hook for supporting a bowl.
