706,668. Typewriters &c. VICTOR ADDING MACHINE CO. May 12, 1952 [May 19, 1951], No. 11970/52. Class 100 (4) A paper guiding throat member 28 in a calculating machine employing listing tape 16 and a tear-off strip 26 comprises a pair of side walls 32 converging rearwardly and having their rearward portions joined by a part 34 having a forwardly sloping upper surface, and a pair of opposed smooth arcuate projections 36 on the side walls extending upwardly and rearwardly from points forwardly of the tear strip, being arranged to engage the edges of the tape and deflect it towards said sloping surface. The tape passes from a supply roll, round the printing platen 22, and past the tear-off strip to the guiding throat.
