Abstract

706,633. Distributers for seeds &c. BROOME, J. H. May 16, 1952 [May 29, 1951], No. 12550/51. Class 6 (1) A seed or fertilizer distributer is removably connected to the rear end of a trailer 1 by means of members 3 on the distributer which engage in tubular members 2 attached to the trailer the distributer being adjustable towards or away from the rear end of the trailer to effect tensioning of a driving chain or belt 7 connecting a driving shaft in the distributer with a sprocket or pulley 6 on the trailer wheel 5 the members 2, 3 constituting the sole support of the distributer on the trailer. The distributer is locked in position by means of pins 16 engaging in holes in the members 2, 3. The members 3 are laterally adjustable to suit different widths of trailers. The belt or chain 7 drives pulleys mounted on a shaft 9 connected by belt drive to the shaft 13 and the pulleys are transversely adjustable. In a modification the members 2 may be fitted with a coaxial screw which may be tightened to push the members 3 rearwardly to tension the chain or belt. The trailer may be provided with a live axle.
