Abstract
621,349. Manure distributers. HAMBLIN, H. J., and RAYBOULD, F. W. Feb. 20. 1947, No. 4976. [Class 6(i)] A fertilizer distributer comprises a rectangular container 1 having rigid side and end walls 2, 3, and having arranged within its walls a looped sheet 4 of flexible material providing a base for supporting the fertilizer 5, means being provided for reducing the effective length of the loop in order to maintain the upper surface of the fertilizer level with the top of the container where it is operated upon by a vaned distributer 6 rotating about a horizontal axis. The sheet is fixed at one end 7 to one of the side walls of the container and the other end 8 is connected to a bogie 9 comprising pulleys 11 joined by an endless chain 12 which also passes around intermediate sprockets 13. The sprockets 13 are mounted on shafts 14 which are driven by the land wheels of the carriage on which the distributer is mounted so that the bogie is advanced during the forward traverse of the carriage to reduce the effective length of the band as the fertilizer is ejected from the container.
