Abstract
705,999. Compressors. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Nov. 3, 1952 [Nov. 2, 1951], No. 27623/52. Class 8 (1). [Also in Groups XIII and XXXIV] A plurality of compressors 2, 3, are connected to a common refrigerator evaporator and condenser by a suction line 8 and pressure lines 10, 13, the suction line being connected to the compressor 2 which has its suction space connected to that of the compressor 3 by a transfer tube 15 opening at the normal level of the oil sump 9 in the compressor 2 and above the normal oil level in the compressor 3 so that excess oil in the compressor 2 is sucked into the compressor 3. The tube 15 is cut obliquely at 16 to provide a large opening and is of inverted V shape. The arrangement maintains satisfactory oil levels in the compressors even when they are disposed at different heights.
