Class 78(1) [Also in Group XIII] In apparatus for drying sponge rubber in sheet or moulded form, [Group XIII], the material is supported and conveyed in a step-bystep manner by members arranged alternately in groups. Shafts 9 driven by chains 11 carry pairs of eccentric discs 12a, 12b embraced by straps 13a, 13b, fast on brackets 14a, 14b, at the lower ends .of vertical supports 15a, 15b, for transverse horizontal bars 16a, 16b, supporting by supports 17a, 17b, longitudinal conveyer bars 18a, 18b, which carry the material, the eccentric discs being 180 degrees out of phase between the sets 12a, 12b, so that the two groups of conveyer bars alternate in their movements. The material is laterally retained during movement by side-guards 19 on the outermost conveyer bars.
