Class 125 (3) In a closure for a metal container 1 having a beaded rim 2 and lid 4 a rubber sealing ring 3 of square or rectangular section, hollowed internally to the external diameter of the bead, is placed around the rim 2 and embraced by the shaped edge of the lid 4 and a U-sectioned band 5 in two parts hinged by a pin joint is applied to press the lid into engagement with the sealing ring and retain it in position.
