703,402. Pistons. POWLEY, C. F. B. May 29, 1951 [Aug. 21, 1950], No. 20695/50. Class 122 (1) In a machine having a piston supported for rectilinear motion by rollers supported on the piston and positioned between and in engagement with spaced apart parallel guide surfaces, each roller is about an axis fixedly positioned rotative to the piston. The piston is provided with a web 54a whish is bored and slotted to support a gudgeon pin 60 and pins 64 carrying rollers which bear on the surface of the cylinder. The surfaces of; the rollers are of arcuate shape and each roller may comprise members, 67, 65, 67 mounted on ball or roller bearings or members 69 mounted on a plain bearing 70. In another form the cylinder is provided with skirt to which are secured plane guide surfaces on which roll cylindrical guide rollers.
