627,844. Eccentrics. PATRIGNANI, T. July 8, 1946, No. 20388. [Class 122(i)] [Also in Group XXVIII] In a mechanism for converting the rotary motion of a shaft into a reciprocating motion of two opposed pistons 8, 9, of the type comprising a shaft 1 carrying an eccentric 2 having rotatably mounted thereon with the interposition of rolling members rings adapted to push the pistonrod terminals 4, 5, adjacent thereto, the piston rods 10, 12, being rigidly connected with the pistons, the eccentric solidly connected with the shaft carries three rings, the intermediate ring 3B acting on the rod 10 of one of the pistons and the two side rings 3A, 3C, actuating the rod 12 of the other piston, the piston rods being connected by a rigid cage member 7 fixed in an axially adjustable manner to one of the piston rods and resiliently connected to the other piston rod. The cage member has a sleeve at each end. one being screwed to the piston rod 10, the other housing a helical spring 6.
