Abstract
702,727. Statistical apparatus. BURROUGHS ADDING MACHINE CO. May 20, 1952, No. 12756/52. Class 106 (1) A card feeding means comprises a magazine 1 for a stack of cards 5 which is provided with rotatable rollers 27 mounted on opposite side wall, and spaced apart by the width of the cards so as to engage the edges of the cards and push them into alignment. One of the rollers is shown at 27 in Figs. 2 and 3 mounted on a spindle 33 secured to a bracket 30 on the side wall 22. The rollers are provided with a resilient rubber ring 38 which engages the edges of the cards as shown in Fig. 4. A card picker mechanism 9, of known form strips the cards from the stack one at a time via the throat formed by an adjustable throat plate 17. The open end of the rollers 27 are closed by a metal disc 35 held in position by spring clips mounted internally. Located between the rollers 27 and the throat of the magazine are two guide plates 39 secured at 40 to the inner face of the side wall 22. The side walls 22 are adjustable laterally by means of adjusting screws; not shown, to accommodate small variations in the length of the cards used.
