Abstract
702,451. Pipe joints. WARTSILA-YHTYMA O/YWARTSILA-KONCERNEN AKTIEBOLAG. Dec. 22, 1949 [Dec. 22, 1948], No. 32844/49. Class 99 (1). [Also in Group XXXVI] Flexible insulating bushes 3, e.g. of rubber, are inserted into knockouts 2 in electric junction boxes and held by means of flanges 4 engaging recesses 5 in the wall of the box, the internal diameter of the bush being slightly smaller than the diameter of the cable 6 it receives. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states also that the bushes may receive cable ducts and that, for round boxes, the bushes have flanges 8 set at an angle and which may lie between 60 and 90 degrees, and flared portions 12 defining grooves 9 which engage the edges of the holes in the box, Fig. 6 (Cancelled). A series of projections may replace the flared portions, Fig. 3 (Cancelled, not shown). This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
