Abstract

701,416. Saw tooth generating circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Oct. 26, 1951 [Dec. 16, 1950], No. 25097/51. Class 40 (6) In a saw-tooth generator of the type in which deflection coils 1 are connected in parallel with a diode 3 in the anode circuit of a pentode valve 2 and in which a square wave is applied to the grid of the pentode an inductance 5 is connected in the screen grid circuit to generate a rising voltage at the screen grid during the forward stroke. The invention permits the pentode to be used in the low impedance condition i.e. with zero grid bias and with the anode voltage so low that the operating point is on the steep slope of the anode-voltage/anode-current characteristic without the screen grid current exceeding the maximum permissible value.
