Abstract
A composition for coating a plastic insulating material with electrically conducting material comprises metallic silver suspended in a lacquer consisting of a 60 per cent. solution of phenolaldehyde or cresol - aldehyde resin in a mixture of butyl alcohol and/or butyl acetate.ALSO:A plastic insulating material surface carries a layer of finely divided metallic silver dispersed in a hard, abrasion-resistant, thermosetting resin binding medium. The insulating surface may have applied thereto a suspension of silver powder in a solution of the resinous bonding material, after which it may be baked to evaporate the solvent and convert the resinous material to a hard, abrasion-resistant medium. The thermosetting resin may be phenol-aldehyde or cresol aldehyde resin, the solvent butyl alcohol and/or butyl acetate and the insulating material glass. The liquid may be applied by a small wheel attached to a reservoir for the liquid and arranged so that the liquid is fed from the reservoir on to the edge of the wheel.
