561,809. Sound record discs. COOKE, F. G., and HAMMANS INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Dec. 1, 1942, No. 17073. [Class 40 (ii)] [Also in Group VIII] Relates to sound record discs of board bonded with synthetic resin, synthetic resin varnish, or like material and comprising a spongy or collapsable layer or layers at the surface or surfaces of the disc where the sound record is to be formed, said layer or layers being impregnated with the bonding material and pressed. According to the invention, the pressing is adapted to produce an annular depression between a central projection a<2> and a rim a<1>, and causes sufficient exudation of the bonding material to form a surface c suitable for the reception of the sound track. This avoids the separate operation of coating the annular depression with a surface layer as described in Specification 561,708.
