Abstract
699,823. Pneumatic conveyers. KING, G. W., Ltd., Jan. 4, 1952 [Jan. 9, 1951], No. 629/51. Class 78 (i). Material is sucked up nozzle 23 (Fig. 1) and flexible hose 22 to pipe 21 where it passes round guide 24 into separator 18, the air passing via side passage 26 and pipe 17 to fan 15 driven by motor 13 and the material falling into outlet 20 whence it is discharged by valve 28 into either of two shoots. This material is either bagged at this point or drops into hopper 40 and is discharged to the right. Discharge valve 28 (Fig. 3) is fitted with blades 37 pressed towards casing 30 by leaf springs in slots 38 in the shaft and is connected with separator 18 by pipe 39 to prevent blow-through of air up past of the descending material.
