699,335. Eddy current dynamo electric machines. DYNAMATIC CORPORATION. Feb. 26, 1952, No. 4953/52. Class 35. The rotary field member of an eddy-current machine has an annular exciting coil 15 carried by a pole-ring 13 and flanked by imbricated pole teeth 25, 27 having their edges tapered on two opposite sides and bevelled on the other sides, the pole teeth and their root parts being made of bendable ferrous material. The peripheral surface 59 of the teeth are machined so as to lie on a cylindrical surface and each tooth has its peripheral edge shaped as shown in Fig. 3. The bevels of the pole teeth provides triangular overlaps when the teeth are bent inwardly into corresponding V-notches 35 provided between the teeth. The teeth spiders 17, 19 are stamped from flat heavy steel sheets about ¢-inch thick. Specifications 611,807 and 636,565 are referred to.
