Abstract

698,517. Seats. HALLAM, SLEIGH & CHESTON, Ltd. July 15, 1952 [July 18, 1951], No. 16988/51. Class 52(ii) In a seat of the kind which is vertically adjustably supported by a member on the seat or fixed support engaging an aperture or slot on the fixed part or seat respectively the aperture. &c. is closed by a hinged or removable part to permit the removal of the seat. As shown, the seat frame 5 is provided with a cross-bar 16 engageable at each end in an aperture 8 on a bracket 3 the aperture having rack teeth 2 whereby the seat may be adjusted in height. The brackets 3 are provided with hinged keeper bars 17 closing the apertures 8 so that when the bars 17 are moved to open the apertures, the seat frame 5 and seat may be removed. The brackets 3 are mounted on channel guides 4 fixed to a wall 1 or floor, the seat frame 5 being provided with guide rollers 6, engageable in said guides 4. In a modification, the bar 16 of the seat frame may engage in straight or curved inclined slots, closable by keeper bars, the height of the seat being adjusted by the seat being caused to approach and recede from the fixed support by a screw or other arrangement.
