Abstract

963,457. Cabinet and table combinations; brackets. K. LAMMEYER. May 1, 1962 [May 2, 1961 (2)], No. 16719/62. Headings A4B and A4H. A cabinet includes vertically adjustable typewriter supporting means 10 and a cover plate 12 pivotally secured, as at 13, near one of its ends to the cabinet for movement in a horizontal plane and adapted for use as a desk top. The cabinet is provided with partitions 2 and 3, pigeonholes 4, 7 and 9, drawers 5, 6 and 8, and hinged doors 15 and 20, the latter carrying a shelf 21 further supported by a spring loaded roller 22. A support plate 10 for a typewriter is mounted for vertical movement on a pair of X-legs 25 carried by L-section bars 26 secured to the cabinet. A further plate 30 is hinged at one horizontal edge 32 to the rear wall 33 of the cabinet and bears at its other edge 34 on the underside of the support plate 10, thereby to lift the latter on moving a handle 36. The cover plate 12 may be rotated as desired about a single vertical pivot 13 and is provided with hingedly connected legs 16. A wedge member 23 provided on the door 20 rests on the cabinet ledge 24 when the door is closed. A ledge 18 on the cover plate 12 serves as a support and locking means therefore in the closed position. The cabinet may rest on rollers and may include a further hinged on detachable plate on its left hand side.
