Abstract

175,174. Michaels, J. Jan. 18, 1921. Table adjustments; tables combined with cabinets.-A typewriter or like table top 4 is mounted on counterbalanced end pieces 3 slidable vertically in a main frame 1 and has one or more hinged lids 12, 13, to the undersides of which the typewriters &c. are fixed. When the lids are brought forward they uncover recesses 10, 11 into which the typewriters &c. retire when the lids are turned back. The lids 12, 13 may rest on a hinged shelf 14 supported by extensible gate legs 17 hinged to the table legs 2. There may be one or more cupboards 29 mounted on castors and adapted to fit between guides 33. A bracket shelf may be hinged to the rear edge of the table top 4. The top may be lifted and lowered by means of cords attached to operating levers or wound on rollers. The top is held in adjusted position by detents simultaneously operated by a handle to engage vertical racks.
