Abstract

290,897. Johansson, K. A. A. Oct. 13, 1927. Office desks.-A typewriter, calculating- machine, or other office machine, is mounted on a sliding shelf or like support on an office table in such a manner that it may be turned over into a hidden position when not required. The base 2 of the typewriter 3, Fig. 2, is mounted on a sliding shelf 1 which moves between angleiron guides 4, 5 and has at its outer end two guide strips 6 with semicircular ends 9. The base 2 is fitted with a spindle on which are rollers 10 running in the guides 6. When the typewriter is not required, it is inverted under the shelf, being suspended by the rollers 10 in the guides 6. It may then be moved under the shelf 1 until the rollers are at the inner ends of the guides 6, when the shelf may be pushed in and the doors 13 shut. The underside of the shelf 1 is recessed to permit the passage of the rollers.
