490,471. Sun-blinds. COOPE, J. T. L., and PATTYSON. E. C. Feb. 17, 1937, No. 4720. [Class 20 (iii)] The arm 10 of a sun-blind has a curved inner end 12 pivoted to a carriage 13 supported on a guide-rail 14, and is mounted for pivotal movement on a spindle 5 geared to a rack 10 on the arm. In the form shown in Fig. 1, a two-armed bracket 7 pivoted on the spindle 5 is fitted with rollers 9 bearing on. the upper face of the arm 1. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, the rollers 9 are carried by a pivoted bracket 28 having an arcuate slot co-operating with stop-pins 30 on the wall-bracket 27. The carriage 13 may be fitted with switch-operating lugs for automatically stopping the inward and outward movements of the arm. In modifications (not shown), the rack gear may be replaced by a screw-and-nut device ; and, the tilting of the arm may be effected by a hydraulic pump.
