601,188. Cabinets. KRAFT, G. E. C. Oct. 23, 1945, No. 27948. [Class 52(1)] [Also in Group XV] A mounting for rotary card index files of the vertical shaft type has a number of files each rotatably mounted on a vertical pivot on a bracket arm, which arms are rotatably mounted on a common supporting column, a limit stop being provided at the point at which the pivots of all the files are in axial alignment, each file being free to be pulled forward for use. Files a are mounted by their pivots 2 in bearings 3, 4, on the ends 5 of bracket arms b. The arms b are mounted by means of bushings 6 fitted onto a vertical column 7, which is mounted on a base d, and each bushing 6 is fixed at the required height by movable rings 10 secured by screws 11. A limit stop 13 for all the arms b is provided and the arms b may be spaced as in Fig. 3 so that a dome 5<1> under the end 5 of any one arm rests on the pivot 2 of the file below when in superposed position. A column of files may be enclosed in a cupboard or piece of furniture c having a sliding door 14, or two columns may be provided one either side of a desk.
