This invention relates to combined ironing boards and tables. y l

The spaced longitudinal braces 12 are connected between the legs adjacent the upper ends thereof as clearly shown iny Figures 1 and 2. A top 13 is arranged on the table lin the -usual manner, and is hinged to one of the legs l0, asat 14. It will be apparent that the free end of the top 13 is adapted to be swung upwardly as suggested in dotted lines in Figure 4.

The braces 12 are provided in their inner faces with inclined slots 15, anda'slide 16 is provided with extensions 17 atits edges adapted to slide in ythese slots. The slots 15 'extend from points adjacent the'end of the table to which the hinge is connected to ya point spacedfrorn the *oppositel endfzof the table, as indicated at 18 .(see Figure 2).

puter ends of the tracks are supported by the upper face of the cut out portion 25 while the opposite ends of the tracks are supported by the slides 1G, as will be apparent. `When it is desired to withdraw the ironing board, the free end of the table is elevated as shown in dotted lines in Figure e, whereupon the projecting end of the ironing board may be readily withdrawn. The inclined portions 24 ol the tracks slide outwardly and upwardly upon the upper face of the cut out portion 25, while the slide 16 moves outwardly and upwardly at a similar angle by virtue oi' the arrangement of the projections 17 in the slots l5. This movement is continued until vthe ironing board reaches the position shown in Figure 4 at which time the movement of the slide 16 will be limited by its contact with the end of the slots 15. Since the ironing board is horizontally arranged within the table, and the angles of the slots 15 and inclined portions eare equal, it will be apparent that the ironing board remains in a horizontal position throughoutits movement to operative position. 1vVhen the latter position is reached, as shown in Figure 4, the free end of the table top may be lowered to normal position, whereupon the upper face of the ironing board will be iiush with the top of the table and will form a continuation thereof. rlhe table top will be eilfectively supported by the adjacent leg and by the slide 16, as will be apparent. When it is desired to replace the board within the table, it is merely Vnecessary to elevate the free end of the top whereupon the operator may slide the board back to inoperative position. As previously stated the movement of the slide 16 toward operative position is limited by the ends of the slots 15, while movement of the ironing board will be limited by contact between the stops 27 and the shoulders 22. The stopelements are so arranged that the inner longitudinal edge of the ironing board will coincide in position with Vthe free edge of the table top whereby the ironing board will be arranged close to the table when it is in operation. It will be apparent that the top oli the table serves when the ironing board isin operation to .receive ironed clothes and the like, whereby the ironing operation is greatly facilitated. Since the board projects freely from the end of the table the basket of clothes to be ironed may be placed thereunder. lVhile the device has been illustrated in vconnection with one specific type of table, it will. be

i obvious that it isV not limited in its application thereto but may be employed with any type of table having side braces in which the grooves may be eut, and an end brace 'n or leg in which may be Cformed the cut out portion to support the tracks 19.

1. A device 'of the character descriloedf` comprising a table havinga hinged top and a. pair of substantially parallel side members provided in their inner, faces with substantially parallel upwardly inclined grooves, a slide mounted in said grooves, a track carried by said slide and provided with a lower inclined face which is adapted to slide on a portion of said table, the upper ends of said grooves being in substantially the same horizontal plane as the portion of Vsaid table on which said lower inclined face -is adapted to slide, an ironing board, anda pair of guides carried by said board and engaging said track.

A device ot the character described comprising a table having a hinged top and Y a pair of parallel side members provided with inclined grooves, an ironing board adapted to be arranged wholly beneath the top of said'table, and means for slidably supporting said board whereby it mayl be drawn from one side of said table,said means including a slide engaging'in said vgroovesV and a track carried by said slide havingV an inclined portion vadapted to slide upon a porj tion of said table, saidgrooves and said inclined portion being rinclined upwardly at equal angles toward the side ofthe table irom which said .board is adapted to be drawn. j

A device ofy the character described comprising a table having a hinged top and a pair of parallel side members provided inclined grooves,l a slide mounted vin said CIA grooves, a track carried by said slide and provided with a lower face inclined at substantially the sameangle as said grooves and adapted to slide on a portion of said table, an ironing board, and a pair of guides carriedby said board and engaging said track.

A device ofv the character described comprising a table having parallel side an end members and a top hinged at one end to one `of said end members, the opposite end member being provided With a cut out ortion, the innerffaees of said side mein ers being provided With grooves inclined upwardly toward said last named end member, a transverse slide having projecting ends slidable in said grooves, a pair of tracks secured at one end to said slide, said' tracks being provided with lower faces inclined subi stantialll at the same angle as said grooves, said inc ined faces being adapted to slide upon the upper face of'said out out portion, guides slidably connected to said tracks, and an ironing board secured to said guides.

A device constructed in accordance With claim 5 wherein said slide is adapted to contact with the upper ends of said grooves to limit its sliding movement, said tracks being vprovided With shoulders, and stop members carried by said ironing board andadapted to engage said shoulders to limit the sliding movement of said board.
