Abstract

803,741. Drawers. TOFANI, R. Nov. 11, 1955 [Nov. 15, 1954], No. 32357/55. Class 52(1) Wooden drawers 4 and the side walls 2 of the associated furniture are provided with co-operating grooves 5 and fillets 3, Fig. 1, or fillets 5a and grooves 3a, Fig. 4, disposed intermediate the top and bottom of the drawer, and a substantial part of the weight of the drawer is taken on rollers 7 or 7a mounted at the front of the side walls. As shown in Fig. 1, rollers 7 work in the drawer grooves 5. As shown in Fig. 4, rollers 7a are mounted in a downwardly-enlarged part 8a of groove 3a and fillets 5a run thereon. Metal plates 11 may be mounted in the grooves to slide on the fillets. The upper surface of the front end of the fillets may be tapered. The Specification describes several ways in detail of mounting the rollers 7 or 7a.
