Abstract

The arms for a wheel chair are adjustable longitudinally. A fixed guide tube (15) is attached to the frame (10) of the chair on which the arm slides. The arm has a tube (19) which slides telescopically on the guide tube and a padded support (18) fixed to the front. The wall of the guide tube has at least two holes (22, 23, 24) longitudinally spaced. The tube of the arm has a V-shaped leaf spring (25) which can engage in one of these holes to lock the arm in position. The arm is prevented from rotating by a projection (29) fitting into a longitudinal slot (28) in the guide tube.
