Abstract

697,925. Endless-belt conveyers. DALE BROWN & CO., Ltd., and ROBSON. J. S. April 24, 1952. [April 27, 1951] No. 9925/51. Class 78 (i). Bottles are transferred from a conveyer 2 to a conveyer 3 by a pusher bar 5 mounted so as to reciprocate horizontally in guides 6. The bar is supported in these guides for slight yielding movement in a vertical plane and rests normally upon a continuously rotating roller 7. the weight of the bar being insufficient for the friction to impart a forward impulse from the roller 7 until a downward pressure is applied by a roller 11. This roller is freely mounted on an axle 12 carried by the head 13 of a rod 9 of a piston operating in a cylinder 10 under pressure impulses of compressed air timed to coincide with the delivery by the conveyer 2 of a bottle 1 to a point opposite the bar 5. At the end of forward stroke of the bar 5, valve means associated with timing mechanism operates to relax the pressure of the roller 11 and permit retraction of the bar by a weight 14 or a spring. A spring 17 serves to damp the return movement of the bar 5 by engaging the forward ends of the guides 6.
