Abstract

697,522. Knife-edge bearings. LIGHT ALLOY UTILITIES, Ltd. March 19, 1951 [Feb. 24, 1950], No. 4832/50. Class 12 (i). A knife-edge bearing 1c comprising a substantially wedge-shaped body 1 having parallel side face portions 1b is removably attached to a scale beam 2 by means of a nut 6 and bolt 7, and is located in a slot 4 in the beam 2. The bolt hole in the member 1 is countersunk to receive the head of the bolt. A hardened stud 8 may be let into the slot 4 substantially in alignment with the knife-edge 1c, the body 1 being suitably chamfered at this point. In a modification the knife-edge is located between parallel levers 9, Fig. 4, provided with slots 4a for engaging the end faces 1a of the knife edge body. Specification 144,151, [Class 12 (i)], is referred to.
