Abstract

606,006. Knife-edge bearings. AVERY, Ltd., W. & T., and SANDERS, L. March 6, 1946, No. 6917. [Class 12 (i)] A bearing member 2 to receive a knife edge is notched at its ends 2a to engage with the side limbs of a link 1 in which the bearing member is mounted by resting on a base limb 1a of the link and the bearing member is retained against unintentional removal by means of a plate 3 formed with inward lugs 3b overhanging the bearing member and secured to the link by a cotter-pin. The bearing member can rock longitudinally and transversely to align with its associated knife edge member by reason of its angular form and by the surface of the base limb 1a of the link on which it is mounted being slightly convex. The arrangement is applicable to a bearing link of a platform weighing machine.
