696,884. Sink pedestals combined with footbaths., WEARHAM, J. Sept. 1, 1950 [Sept. 21, 1949], No. 24314/49. Class 26 The lower end of a hand-washing basin pedestal, which is adapted for fitment to the floor and to the waste system, terminates in or is attached to a chamber containing a foot-washing bath. The pedestal may be fitted below or integral with the basin and may be made of glazed earthenware or pressed or cast metal. In one form, Fig. 1, the base of the pedestal u contains a retractible bath b which is connected to the drain by a waste pipe plug o and a flexible pipe g is fed from a supply pipe e. The footbath may be slid out or may be rotatable about the vertical axis of the waste pipe f. An alternative form (not shown) similar to that shown in Fig. 1 but with telescopic feed pipes is also described. In another form, Fig. 3, a fixed bath b formed within the pedestal a is covered by a hinged lid b<SP>1</SP> which, in its lower position, forms a footrest. An extensible metal sleeve u having a clamping bolt v is fitted to adjust the height of the pedestal. The waste outlet plug is shown in Fig. 4 and comprises an externally threaded pipe w, fixed to the base of the bath and connected to the waste, having outet holes x and an internally-threaded sleeve o having overflow holes y.
