695,538. Lubricating. AKTIEBOLAGET E. FLERON. May 14, 1952, No. 12241/52. Class 12 (iii). A lubrication device for machines having a high-placed transmission enclosed in a case 1 with an oil bath 4 for splash lubrication, comprises a pipe 7 connected to the case 1 above the oil level, the pipe being provided with a wick 8 projecting into the case to pick up lubricant when the transmission operates. The case shown encloses a chain transmission between the engine shaft of a motor-driven lawn-mower and an intermediate shaft 2, which drives the rotary cutter drum and traction roll or wheels of the machine through gearing which inchides a sprocket 5. The sprocket is lubricated by the oil dripping from the pipe 7. A number of pipes may be connected to the case 1 and one pipe may be forked to supply lubricant to more than one point of lubrication.
