Lubricant conveyed by mechanical meams.-In a speed-reducing gear-box 2 for a washing or like machine, oil splashed up by the gear-wheels from a well in the lower portion of the box drains down the walls of the box and down inclines 5b, 15 to holes in the bearings in the walls of the box. One wheel 13 is provided on one side of its web 13<a> with radial ribs 21<a> which carry up oil, while the other side of the web 13a is provided with a scoop formed by a plate 23 secured to a recessed rib 22. A combined overflow outlet and filling opening 20 closed by a plug 21 is provided.
