[Class 12 (iii)] Ball and roller bearings arranged side-by-side are lubricated by oil-throwing washers i between the bearings b, b<SP>1</SP> and dipping into oil in the sump a, the oil level being above the level h of the lowest parts of the washers and below the level g of the inside diameter of the outer races. The washers are secured between the races and may have tapered edges.
