846,264. Crank-shafts. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Jan. 31, 1957 [Jan. 31, 1956], No. 3055/56. Class 80 (2). [Also in Groups XXVIII and XXXIV] In a vertical crankshaft 6 having a bottom bearing 13, lubricant is fed to the walls of said bearing through a lateral passage 24 extending outwardly from a central longitudinal passage 22a of the shaft in communication with a lubricant reservoir via a filter 19, is fed up the bearing walls along a thread 25 formed on the exterior of the shaft, and is then fed inwardly through a further lateral passage 26 to a further longitudinal passage 22 to other parts of the shaft requiring lubrication.
