Abstract
695,500. Light reflectors. JONAS, E. L. April 28, 1952 [April 28, 19511, No. 10013/51. Class 75(ii) In a light reflector made of light permeable material having a light receiving face 12, a light emitting face 13 at right angles thereto and a reflecting face 14, there is formed between the receiving face 12 and the first reflecting face 14 an additional reflecting face 15 at right angles to the receiving face. The first reflecting face 14 is convex towards the light receiving and emitting faces, and the additional reflecting face 15 is flat and both reflecting faces may be frosted or covered with a reflecting material. The light reflector shown is of annular form and is adjustably supported on an incandescent lamp 11 by means of three spring clips 16 having arms 16a engaging the lamp envelope; the clips are prevented from moving along - the reflector by grooves 19 in the additional reflecting face 15. For use with an electric discharge tube the reflector is straight but has the same cross section and one such reflector is mounted along each side of the discharge tube by means of two or more spring clips clamped around the tube or around the lamp end caps. In a fitting comprising two or more side by side discharge tubes a straight reflector is mounted along the outer sides of the outside tubes. The reflector is made of moulded glass or plastic.
