Class 123 (ii) A boiler element 1 for a water heating stove comprises at least two water channels of elongated cross-section, said channels being parallel to one another in their length and mutually inclined in their width, at least one of the channels having parallel plane walls and at least one of the channels having parallel walls curved in their width. In the form shown, the channels 6, 7 are interconnected at their ends by collecting channels 2, 3 and intermediate their ends by cross-channels 8, the collecting channels 2, 3 being provided with inlet and outlet ports 4, 5 for connection to adjacent elements as shown by Fig. 6. Groups of elements are arranged around a firebox between the grate and the fire-box wall and combustion gases flow through the tapering passages 9 formed by the mutually inclined channels 6, 7, and also around the curved outer surface of the channels 7. A further form of element described, intended to be placed in the middle of the fire-box, comprises a central channel with plane walls, flanked on each side by channels with curved walls see Fig. 7 (not shown).
