694,124. Fishing rod fittings. ALLCOCK & CO., Ltd., S:, and SHRIMPTON, S. A. Sept. 6, 1951 [Oct. 5, 1950], No. 24301/50. Class 48. In rod fittings comprising a forward ferrule 2 and a rear ferrule 9 for engaging the ends of the scoop x of'the reel two separate parts 4, 10 of a scoop-supporting sleeve extend between the two ferrules, the forward part 4 being fixed to the stationary forward ferrule 2 and the rear part 10 being secured to the rear ferrule 9 and slidable on a fixed tubular member 5 which extends rearwardly from the forward ferrule and has a screw 7 on which the rear part 10 and the rear ferrule are freely mounted, an internal peg 11 on the rear part 10 sliding in a slot 5a in the fixed tubular member 5 to prevent rotation of the rear ferrule when the screw is rotated by a knob 12 on the rear end of the screw. The screw 7 engages with a threaded sleeve 6 secured inside the tubular member 5 and has a head 7e which engages the inside of the tubular member and abuts the threaded sleeve to prevent complete removal of the screw.
