Abstract
577,615. Fishing rods. EGGINTON, H. March 1, 1944, No. 3848. [Class 48] A fishing rod A is provided with an auxiliary handle C, telescopically mounted in the end of the normal handle D. In Fig. 1, the handle C is in closed position. The handle D may form part of the butt B, or preferably, is as shown, so that it may form a support for the reel, the horns of which lock in recesses E, F. A screwed collar G is provided. Spring-pressed pins I, in the part D, co-act with slots H, to restrict the longitudinal movements of C, and prevent its rotation. Holes may be located at one, or both ends of the slots, into which the pins I fit as latches. A vent hole M is provided. The handle C may be adapted to hold fishing requisites. In a modification. the handle C may slide over the butt of the rod.
