Abstract

691,012. Impedance networks. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES, Ltd. Dec. 4, 1951 [Dec. 5, 1950], No. 29779/50. Class 40 (viii). An electric network consists of lumped components 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22, mounted in a case 5 of coaxial form, which acts as a shield .and is connected to the end of a coaxial line 4. As shown, the outer and inner parts of the casing may include tapered sections 1 and 13 to match the impedance of the case to the cable. The outer end of the casing is closed by a conducting plate 12 and the inner member 14 of the casing is supported by an insulating plate 6. The lumped components of the network are shown in shunt connection with the coaxial cable but series connected elements may be connected in gaps formed in inner conductor 14, as indicated at 33. For adjustment a movable condenser plate 27 co-operating with the end of member 14, and a resistor 30, are operated by external knobs 29 and 32 respectively.
