731,624. Load- - coupling arrangements. BRITISH TELECOMMUNICATIONS RESEARCH, Ltd. Nov. 3, 1953 [Nov. 26, 1952], No. 29983/52. Drawings to Specification. Class 40 (5). A quarter-wave coaxial line section for impedance matching is so constructed that the mean dielectric constant of the space between its conductors may be varied to change its characteristic impedance. For this purpose the disc insulators in said space are a push fit on the central conductor and a sliding fit in the outer conductor, enabling the central conductor to be withdrawn with the insulators, the number and spacing of which can then be adjusted. The discs may also be of different dielectric constants.
