Abstract

690,798. Contacting gases with liquids. KUHNI, F. Dec. 17, 1951 [Dec. 29, 1950], No. 29497/51. Class 55(ii). A circular plate for a gas-liquid contact column has a series of strips of the material of the plate pressed out to form pairs of slits as shown and through which gas may pass into a body of liquid supported on the plate. The edges of the strips and of the material of the plate adjacent the slits may be turned upwards or downwards. The slits may extend in a radial direction or at right angles thereto, and a plate may have some slits extending in the one direction and some in the other. The slits may be arranged in a series of concentric circles but are preferably not arranged in radial rows.
