791,967. Contacting gases with liquids. BOUCHER & CO., Ltd. July 2, 1956 [July 2, 1955], No. 19189/55. Class 55 (2). A packing unit (Fig. 1) for a gas-liquid contact column has diamond-shaped cells built up by assembling elements of foraminous sheet material and of the shape shown in Fig. 2 between L-section girders 29 and 30 by threaded rods such as 23a, 23b, 23c and 23d. The sheet material may be expanded stainless steel sheet and the height and width of a cell in an element may be 5 and 10 inches respectively. In a modification the foraminous sheet elements may be of V formation. Specification 729,587 is referred to.
