Abstract

689,828. Padlocks. NYSTROM, L.A. July 18, 1951, No. 17091/51. Class 44. A locking device comprises a padlock and a chain or other flexible member, one end of which is secured to the padlock and the other end of which is provided with a ring or the like, the padlock being connected to or formed as a case adapted to receive the chain, &c. In one form, Fig. 1, the padlock 2 has a receptacle .containing a drum 6 with an internal spring 5 which tends to rotate the drum to wind thereon a wire 7 having at the free end a ring 9. A chain may replace the wire and the spring 5 may be omitted, winding up of the chain being effected manually by a handle. In the form shown in Fig. 6, the chain 7 is housed when not in use in a case 20 attached to the padlock 25, a lid 21 being provided.
